About

Presented in partnership with Brisbane Festival and in association with Camerata – Queensland's Chamber Orchestra

Down the steps...over the corpses...careers the pram with the child…

Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin 1925 is often cited as one of the greatest films of all time. In this special event, see a new restoration of the silent masterpiece with a stunning new score performed live by Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra.

Battleship Potemkin tells the powerful story of the mutineering crew during the Russian Revolution of 1905. It is filled with some of the most iconic images in film history, including the spectacular climactic sequence on the Odessa Steps. Camerata have established themselves as a preeminent voice in the Australian musical landscape. A 10-piece string ensemble from Camerata will accompany the film with an improvised soundtrack score that brings to life the energy and might of Eisenstein's filmmaking.

The Old Museum is located at 480 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills.
