About

QAGOMA, home of the Brisbane International Film Festival, is proud to host a special Screen Queensland industry event.

This event is your chance to hear from the team behind dark comedic thriller Bloody Hell, that was secured to Queensland through the Screen Queensland Production Investment Program and with support from the Gold Coast City Council, and is estimated to spend $5 million in the state and create approximately 90 jobs.

Ben O’Toole (Hacksaw Ridge, Detroit) goes to hell in Alister Grierson’s, Bloody Hell which is the first collaboration between Eclectik Vision’s Brett Thornquest and Heart Sleeve Productions’ Joshua Paul Olson and Robert Benjamin Nelson.

At this masterclass Brett Thornquest, Joshua Paul Olson and Robert Benjamin Nelson will explain how marketing makes all the difference to ensure your audience sees your film.

This is their pitch on why you should attend this event:

Because you can make the best movie in the world...but if you can't market it...no one is gonna see it. In other words, you gotta be able to sell that movie and get the most eyes on it as possible in order for it to truly live and breathe and have an effect on society and your audience.

We have unique experiences where marketing and production collide in order to help get a feature film funded before there's even a script...creating special shoots for movies before/during shooting...or renaming/rebranding movies after they're made in order to sell them to the largest studio...and help them find the largest audience possible.

Joshua Paul Olson (Josh) and Robert Benjamin Nelson (Rob) are a combined creative force to be reckoned with, hailing from their current base of West Hollywood, California. Josh, Founder and Executive Creative Director, and Rob, Creative Director and Senior Editor, run Heart Sleeve Creative, which is a Boutique-Meets-Behemoth Theatrical Marketing Agency.

What's a Boutique-Meets-Behemoth? An agency that's fortunate enough to be able to work on the largest or smallest titles, giving everything the appropriate attention and needs they deserve.

They have a combined experience of nearly 30 years working in the entertainment industry for such clients as Sony, Warner Bros, Disney, Lionsgate, Netflix, STX, UFC, CBS, Indie Studios and Filmmakers, and many more. They've also been nominated for a total of over 40 Marketing Awards throughout their career and partnership thus far. They met at their previous employer and hit it off from the get-go...and it's been a rocket ship blasting off ever since. They both have production experience as well...which makes them a unique blend and brand that have an edge on their competition, giving them a different take and view than "the usual or expected" and allowing them to be true to themselves as artists...but more importantly as humans.
