About
Due to unforeseen circumstances this screenings have been cancelled.
Set entirely inside an insane asylum, A Page of Madness follows an elderly seaman who has become the asylum's janitor in order to be near his disturbed wife. With no intertitles, Teinsosuke Kinugasa conveys the fantasies and memories of the insane with multiple exposures, oblique angles, swish pans, and rapid editing. A bizarre blend of expressionist and Soviet Montage styles, A Page of Madness is a one-of-a-kind cinematic tour de force.
